- Furniture to Scale: Place furniture to scale. Include room names and dimensions in a width (X - axis), length (Y - axis) manner.
- Height Details: Mention heights, keeping the ground as ±0, Plinth level, and any other necessary levels.
- Provide the building dimensions (not site dimensions) to ensure adaptability to various site sizes.
- No Landscaping Details: Remove hatches showing grass, flooring, and plants to avoid confusion.
Working Drawings
- Exterior and Interior Dimensions: Include exterior dimensions outside the floor plan and interior dimensions toward the room. Avoid repeating dimensions for any space.
- Professional Look: Align all dimension lines in one line for a professional appearance.
- Neat Windows and Doors: Name windows and doors in a neat line. Avoid excessive detail to make it easy for contractors or masons to understand.
- Dotted Line Projections: Show projections in dotted lines to match elevations or other elements.
Column Center Line
Identify column placement
- Locate column positions on the drawing
- Mark the dimensions of column (Length and width)
- Locate the column center
Draw center line
- Draw a dotted line passing through the center point horizontally and vertically
- Extend the center line beyond the column's edge making them visible for alignment purpose
- Ensure the lines are light and visible from other elements
Label and align
- Label each line on the grid reference system: assign alphabets (a, b, c...) to the horizontal lines and numbers (1, 2, 3...) to the vertical lines.
Door & Window Detail
- Limitations: Provide plans for Bay window and corner/L-shape window only.
- Readability: Ensure dimensions are readable. Include the number of units repeated on each floor.
- Sill Height Details: Show all windows from the exact sill height
Electrical Drawing
- Complete Legend: Ensure the legend is complete.
- Color and Layering: Use a single-layer, colored floor plan. Make connection and dimension lines darker than floor plan lines.
- Separate Drawings: Provide two drawings for electrical connections and fixture dimensions.
Plumbing Drawing
- Line Types and Arrows: Show line types for each water and sewage line, with arrows indicating flow direction.
- Color Coding: Use the same colors as indicated in the legends, keeping the floor plans in black while highlighting only the plumbing details.
- Legend Inclusion: Include the legend as shown in the template drawing.
